BMD Micro converter power consumption/Cheap battery solution

PostSat Nov 18, 2017 7:17 pm

Hi all!
I'm going to buy few BMD Micro converters for different use. In most cases I'm going to power them by AC adapters. However, there might be few cases when AC power is not available, so I'll need to use battery. I know Micro Converters can be powered by smartphone chargers, or even external smartphone battery packs. So, I think battery packs are easy and cheap solution. But I don't know the power consumption of the micro converters and I have no idea what battery pack will be good.
For example I have good powerpack for my phone. Hama: capacity: 10 000mAh, output power 5V/2100mA (10,5 Watt).
The power consumption of a MicroConverter is 1,6 Watt (according to the tech specs.). So, the battery pack should be ok, but for how long? If I calculate it right, in the best case my battery has 50Wh capacity. So theoretically the MicroConverter should work for more than 30 hours (50Wh/1,6W).
Theoretically. But what about practically?
Anyone has experience with that? Thanks!
