Blackmagic s-video to DVI-----

PostFri Apr 05, 2013 5:17 pm

Hello folks. First time poster looking for some help
Scene is a house of worship setting, using a compact video hub as the matrix switch it is to route sdi to multiple destinations. Some things: The switcher, Data Video SE-900, only has analogue s-video, SDI or component out. The projector only has DVI-D input that we would like to use. It has S-video and component as well. However because we are also feeding a computer running multiple types of software, we want to keep the resolution as high as possible.
Main issue: Source is a analogue, s-video camera feeding into the Data video se-900 video switcher. From video switcher to analogue to sdi BMD converter, to the compact video hub. output feeds to a SDI-HDMI BMD converter then using a cable converter to DVI-D input of projector.

When running the computer as a source it can be fed to any destination. Even into the analogue se-900 as we are using BMD converters SDI-analogue conversion. The source feeding from the se-900 switcher will feed to destinations within another same switcher or to HDMI screens sets through out the campus.

I am not sure but after much reading and trying to comprehend, I believe that it is an analogue to Digital conversion that is not taking place for the DVI-D to accept the input.
So the question would be: Is there a BMD converter that will convert the analogue out of the SE-900 to a digital signal so as it can be ran into the SDI as a Digital signal....

Please give guidance to an audio geek trying to learn about video......

P.S. Learning that there are way to many different formats of Video.
