Optical fiber solution for multicam Ursa mini

PostTue Nov 28, 2017 10:03 am

Hello, I’m just curious to know if someone tested this solution: https://shieldrock.com/pdfs/AppNote_TWELVETXRX_URSA.pdf

I’m also curious to see how the talkback 4K can run during many hours of UHD 60p multicam production with 8x sfp 12G-SDI in action...

Any sharing of experience is welcome!

We tested our own boxes in the same way.

From our test the Talkback 4K needs room around it. The 12G SFP's become quite warm. The TB4K does have 2x 40mm fans to cool it but the whole case gets warm. So i recommend to keep at least 1U free above the unit.

Q1 2018 i can share more info on the product we are working on. ;)

Thank you Daniel. We gonna make some test too with Shieldrock sfp and will let you know how it’s working.

We are using intensively our Talkback 4K since 2 years with good space around it. No problem with it... Let’s hope it will be the same with UHD multicam.
