Intensity Shuttle for USB 3.0 connectivity for live streamin

PostMon Dec 04, 2017 2:38 pm

Hi,
We have been using Intensity Shuttle for USB 3.0 to receive the video feed from a Sony handycam hdr-cx150. the camera is connected through a mini hdmi connector which is connected to a hdmi cable which is 10m long... We use the Manycam video mixer. While using the mixer we have instances that the blackmagic blacks out in some instances we are able to reselect blackmagic and get the video. But other instances are there when the blackmagic doesn't appear at all... in those times we have to re-plug the connectors and restart the computer.. this is an issue for us.. Will someone be able to help us?

Given ur using a 10m HDMI cable I'm amazed it's working at all. BMD solutions are not usually known for their ability to run with HDMI cables of this length, usually anything beyond 4 to 5m looses stability. Try converting to a SDI cable run.

10m hdmi is indeed not done!! A shorter hdmi cable will probably solve the issue.. Because the intensity goes hay wire with the intermitted HMDI signal.. ;)

Converting to sdi and back to hdmi is in this setup also a bad idea.. As the camera will go in 1080P mode because the converter EDID table supports 1080P. But the intensity only goes to 1080I. So you create a new problem going the SDI route.

Thank you so much for all the replies... given our situation we are at the moment not able to go for a shorter cable as we are a church and the camera is placed in front and the PC is at the back and the intensity shuttle is close to the PC too... one thing we are going to try is to get a mini hdmi to hdmi cable... as currently we are using a connector to connect to the mini hdmi port on the camera... hopefully it would work better...

these hdmi cables use fiber instead of copper, a much better solution for longer runs...

Hello,
So finally we are thinking of going for a new camera... does anyone know how Sony PXW-X200 works? That's what we are looking at..
