My ATEM TVS just started switching program rather than preview when clicking the number keys on my keyboard. It used to work correctly switching preview and then using space to go from preview to program. Can anyone tell me what happened?

There is a hot key to enable switching of PGM instead of PVW. I think it is Ctrl or possibly Caps Lock. Try to press Ctrl just once and you should be back to normal.

In ATEM control software, you can toggle the num-pad function between selecting preview and direct cut. Default is selecting preview. You can toggle by pressening and release the CTRL button without pressing a number key. It is described in manual at page 35.

Old thread, I know but it´s on an issue that hits me sometimes. Every now and then I or my coworkers accidentally hit the Ctrl button and activates the direct cut function. This is no fun when you suddenly run your preview work in PGM.

Is there any way to de-activate the Ctrl-press to activate direct cut?

You already have a computer with you so stop using the keyboard and buy yourself a stream deck. You can do so much with it and then there are no problem with hitting ctrl any more.

Cheap answer - use a USB number keypad. We've been using them for years for just this reason, so you don't have to stretch across other buttons on the keyboard (we use 10" laptops for mixer control to minimise packing size and weight) to reach the number keys. Hit enter to cue the transition.

Thanks for the suggestion about streamdeck. Running tests with a XL right now and it is a nice piece of kit!

I love 'hot' switching with the 'control' button on the Program bus. Much quicker then putting in preview then switching.
