Ultrastudio mini monitor - how many can you use?

PostWed Dec 13, 2017 4:47 pm

Hi,

I'm wondering if anyone has any experience using the UltraStudio Mini Monitor for output from a mac pro (trash can)? Do these devices act as active or passive displays - thus, can they circumvent the limit of 2x connected passive displays?

Thanks in advance!

The BMD output devices don't work as normal displays. Software must support sending a video feed through the device.

DeckLink 4K Extreme 12G

Thanks Jack,

Ah I see, I'm interested from a live production point of view, I'd like to find out if QLab supports using them as an output, I'll do some digging. I'm guessing there's no theoretical limit on how many of these you can use at once, software permitting?

I think the limit was 2 or 3.. Based on driver and ports of thunderbolt..
