ATEM Television Studio linux drivers

PostThu Sep 06, 2012 10:35 am

I was wondering, is there any possibility of a linux version of ATEM software only for TVS? since is only USB 2.0 I think there's a good chance to have it. Thank you.

If we were to do it, we'd do it on all three units. Since the driver set is the same there would not be a point to do it with just one.

USB2/3 doesn't really factor in quite like you think as the interface would be ethernet for all three. The USB2 would only be to capture the compressed H.264 files coming off the USB2 port on the TVS.

I don't think we are currently working on this, but it's a good suggestion, so thanks for that.

I hope this is the right posting:
But I would like to have a Linux driver for the ATEM TVS / H.264 Pro recorder....
As i know this is the same chip behind the usb port???
Maybe there is a SDK for that? Would be a nice way to use a little Linux box for streaming, as there is a little script to do it on Windows and Mac os x. But Linux is more flexible and free...

Thanks for help and new ideas....

Thumbs up!

I also would be very appreciated to have a linux driver for the encoder.

This would give perfekt chances to build a small and powerfull streaming solution!

Cheers

Add me to the list of Linux support for ATEM line.

I currently enjoy the Linux support for the Decklink Duo/Quad!

+1 for linux support for the control panel, and make it for the entire ATEM line because I have the 1 M/E.

linux driver would be nice. documentation so that the community can integrate this in existing software stacks would be even better.

There's a reverse engineered QT library already, and I'm writing a pure Python lib

Another vote here for linux support.

Out of curiosity, any update on the python lib.

Hello,

I read in another forum that it is possible to capture a ATEM TVS Stream with the Decklink API. Maybe I'm wrong on that. Anyway the Streaming part seems not implemented in the Linux Decklink SDK. Are there any plans to implement the Streaming features in the Linux version.

Thanks offtools

PS: strong +1 for ATEM drivers

+1 for the ATEM TVS/H.264 Pro Recorder Linux drivers

These devices would make a kick-ass portable encoder when paired with any laptop in a backpack.

Frankly, I don't think the interesting part of this is the ATEM Ethernet drivers for control - I think it's the live video streaming from the USB 2.0 ports of these devices.

I'd like to find out if the USB H.264 stream conforms to USB Video Class 1.5 ? If not, would Black Magic make the USB protocol available so a Linux driver could be developed by the community ?

Thank you

BMD haven't released anything since the initial request 7yrs ago.
So anyone that was holding their breath on this would've long departed us anyways.
