Teranex Mini IP Video 12G in different Gateway / Subnet

PostWed Jan 17, 2018 9:09 am

Hi everyone,

I'd like to send my video source (Teranex Mini IP Video 12G) to a receiver which which is located in a different building of the campus and due to security reasons in a different gateway/subnet. Is there any possibilty to get this done? Or do I need a separate software/device to do so?

Thanks for your help.

Your post would been better in the "Live Production" section.. Maybe 1 of the Mod's can trow it there..

Across subnets and gateways is normally not Done.
But are you running it over fiber? Have you speaked with IT staff about trowing big "uncompressed" video over their network?
Will the network switches handle that amount of data? 4:1 compression so 12G 4K = 3Gbit/s

I think you should consult IT and ask them to make a special VLAN for you that is on the same Subnet / Gateway.
Being a closed vlan the security issues may also be no issue anymore.. As it will act as a Point 2 Point connection.. ;)
