How to power with 12v the Micro Studio Camera?

PostMon Feb 05, 2018 9:53 am

Hello, is there a cable that plugs into the expansion port of the Micro Camera and that allows to simply power in 12v the camera? The multiple expansion cable is too bulky for my use!
Thank you

You could probably make your own cable.

Power and a whole lot more. Prior to this I used a regulated dummy with 4-pin XLR.

If you make your own connector you have to make it from scratch. I thought you could take a molded VGA cable, cut off the end, solder on a DC connector and call it a day. You can't because the power input uses one of the color shields on the connector so your cable ends up with voltage on all the grounds, not good.

Or just use the included Squid cable’s power port. But Dmitry’s Little breakout box is much neater, and he has a new batch in the works.
