Hyperdeck Shuttle, why not a standard Pro Res possible?

PostMon Feb 05, 2018 10:13 am

Hello, I do not understand why, in 2018, with all the firmware updates Hyperdeck, we still can not save ProRes 422 or LT rather necessarily HQ? Frankly, Balckmagic, please make a little effort ...
Thank you

Hi Julien, How do I get to choose those options (HQ, etc)? I did it years ago and forgot how to get to that?
Thanks

John, you select this with the Shuttle Utility program. Connect the Shuttle to a computer running the FW update/ control program, it will see the Shuttle, and their should be a setting to select a ProRes, DNxHD or uncompressed. If you are running uncompressed, you will have short record times and “big” files.

Julien, the Hyperdeck Shuttle is a EOL/Legacy unit, no longer actively supported. It has been basically replaced by the Video Assist Line, as a on camera recorder, and by the new Micro Hyperdeck as a production recorder.

Both the VA and Micro recorders have different recording codec options. I am looking at replacing my Hyperdeck Shuttle with a Hyperdeck Micro. For on camera recording, I am using a PixE monitor/recorder for external recording options.
