I'm going to be rebuilding my main production rack in the next few months, and so my head is constantly thinking about how / what / where, can this piece of gear do that, etc.

I'm using Hyperdeck Studios for all my master recording, and thinking about adding one more for doing instant replays (no slow motion or anything). Currently, I'm using a SATA->USB3 handheld disk carriage to transfer files to storage currently, which is fine, but is yet another piece of gear that must be remembered.

So I'm considering buying a Multidock, which seems really convenient and nice - but I rarely (if ever) need 4 more disk bays connected to one computer. It would be much nicer if I could virtually "split" the device into two disk bays each for two computers. Putting it on the wish list 8-)

Not sure if the current hardware could support this at all even though it has two thunderbolt-ports, considering one is there for daisychaining.
