Blackmagic Ultrastudio Mini Recorder

Hello everyone

Yesterday I was doing some tests to do a streaming with my BM mini recorder and in a moment I changed it from a computer and asked me to update it and I disconnected it from the computer, after that I connect it to other computers and it does not turn on and "Desktop video "does not recognize it but if I go to the thunderbolt computer features / it appears but it does not work, could it be burned or the cable stopped working? or what can it be? please some help

It's potentially a cable issue. Try restarting the computer(s) and reconnect the device and see if it still isn't detected.

I did it and it does not work, I did the test in several computers and it still does not work. Also probe with a new cable.

Did you happen to try it with an Apple branded Thunderbolt cable? Also, does the light next to the Thunderbolt connection on the unit come on? It is the size of a pinhole but you should be able to see if the light is on.

Same problem! Tried a couple of different cables (Apple and LaCie issued cables) and computers. Nothing seems to resolve the issue. While plugged in, the device does get fairly warm but no LED or video feed is available.

Any new updates and solutions for this one?
I just got mine and same with everyone here, it does not work.
I have Macbook with OS High Sierra. No lights when plugged.

Hoping that this probs will be solved soon.

Finally, my unit WORKS!
A simple solution: Just USE a genuine Apple Thunderbolt Cable (2M)

My gears and some recommended stuff:

MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015) OS High Sierra 10.13.3
- Install iShowU to capture desktop audio (iTunes and any audio)
- On Audio MIDI Setup, create a Multi-Output Device

Desktop Video 10.9.11
- Follow the installation instructions like the usual.
- On Security & Privacy, select "Allow Apps"

Sony A7sii
- On HDMI settings, choose Auto or 1080i
- For clean HDMI out, turn the Info Display OFF

OBS 21.1.1
- If you see a flickering green screen while choosing the video capture device, just restart the computer then Open first the Desktop Video, select HDMI, then Save.
- If you're using an external mic (plugged in an audio interface), to SYNC it properly to the video output, go to Advanced Audio Properties, just fiddle with the "Sync Offset (ms), I set it to 200.
