Remote Pan Tilt Zoom Heads

PostSat Apr 20, 2013 9:59 am

A little off topic, but I'm looking for anyone with experience of Pan & Tilt assemblies for larger camcorders that come with an all in one controller which will also do LANC. I love the idea of the Panasonic PTZ cameras with HD-SDI but they are just too expensive and wouldn't allow us to use our JVC GY-HM600's for other more traditional filming..

Does anyone have any experience of these things? good manufacturer etc?

Thanks!

I have thought that there could be a market for a VISCA compatible pan/tilt head that also had LANC compatibility. I would think someone could make one for a very reasonable price that could support some of the smaller camcorders and thus create an economical remote camera system.

I do use Egripment heads for that purpose at the moment. But they don't come cheap...

I've build a MAC2000 into a JVC HD-251 P/T head including ENG lens control a while ago.
It was too bulky on stage, so I ended up using MAC101's instead with SONY camerablocks. I use them in multi-cam environment. On my website you see some examples.

Take a look at Grizzly Pro Video
www.grizzlypro.com/
They make workable low cost systems that should work with those JVC cameras.

How about the robotic pan tilt head from SEEDER manufacturer.
This robotic heads can be handled for remote photography by a single person through network.
