Simple Livestream Setup For My Church

PostMon May 07, 2018 10:28 pm

Friends, I need help.
I am wanting to use a one camera setup for a basic but HD/HQ livestream for my church.
I have a Sony Handy Cam 4k camera, I have a Mac Mini and I purchased an UltraStudio Mini Recorder from Blackmagic.

I have upgraded our Wifi and it is producing everything that I need.
I have tried using the OBS software but it is not producing the right quality for my livestream.
When I use the Media Express software I can see my input and the quality is great.
When I use OBS and try to livestream the quality is terrible, it looks like a VHS or something...

My question is, does Blackmagic have a livestream software or do any of you recommend a certain software that's affordable without spending $500+

I would really appreciate any help you could give me on here or by email at philip@solidrockjc.com

Thanks for your time

OBS does recode the signal and it seems your PC is not able to do that, you need to pass the signal directly.

Vmix won't run on a Mac. It's built for Windows OS.

Ditch the WiFi, stream using a cat6 cable.
Check uplink bandwidth supports the streaming preferences ur wanting to use.
Check OBS encode settings
To where are you streaming .. Facebook, YouTube, CDN, private server ??

I use the OBS software at church every Sunday.
Here are my settings.
I am now using the Blackmagic Web presenter to send from Sony Ax2000 camera to OBS.

Would be great news to me! Or are you only talking about Bootcamp?

Hmmmm not really. There is no macOS version of vmix. However it is possible to run the windows version via boot camp.

Dan, I think ur looking at the download for the desktop capture application.

To my knowledge vMix does not run on Mac OS
Maybe with bootcamp or parallels etc. but that of course
would be windows running on a Mac.
