ATEM Camera Converter HDMI input do not support 1920x1080p60 or 1920x1080p50


HDMI input EDID reports only these resolutions and framerates.
1920x1080i 60.00*+ 50.00 59.94
1920x1080 30.00 25.00 24.00 29.97 23.98
1280x720 60.00 50.00 59.94
1440x576i 50.00
1440x480i 59.94
720x576 50.00
720x576i 50.00
720x480 60.00 59.94
720x480i 60.00 59.94


Do I 'am only one who trouble with that?

Yep, it was designed a while back and I don't believe the hardware is capable of 3g.
But considering /p60 isn't a broadcast resolution, but a PC resolution this also might be why
If it did 3g progressive in broadcast it would prob still be /50 /59.94

If you need to feed in a 60p signal BMD's new up/down/cross will convert to something it will handle at relatively low cost.

The SDI of the Atem Camera Converter support 1080P50/59.94 3G Level A

And if i'm not mistaking i also put 1080P50 on hdmi trough them a few weeks ago.. So maybe it is not in the EDID table.. But surely did work. When i was testing them because i have 3 for sale.. (See offtopic subforum)

It does support 60P also..

Perhaps the HDMI as setup on the older gear and some of the current cameras, is for SD/HD monitor inputs/outputs, and only supports 1080p24-30, 1080p50/60 is not supported on HDMI, only SDI?

We are just right now in this moment using th HDMI output of the camera conveter in 1080p59.94.

The hardware is 60.00p, 50.00p and 59.94p compatible as documentation describe.
SDI input works like as it should be: 3G-SDI Level B.

But I'm talking about HDMI input.
There are nothing like Level A or Level B.
The problem is that HDMI input do not advertise with EDID higher frame rates with progressive mode.

Most cameras that have HDMI output, look from reciver what kind of resolutions and frame rates is possible to use. If recever (in this situation converter) do not send that 60.00p, 50.00p and 59.94p frame rates are supported, then camera do not send that picture out.


If I put computer HDMI output to converter HDMI input, then computer also do not list 60.00p, 50.00p and 59.94p frequences with 1920x1080 resolution.

If I manualy force computer to send picture with 1920x1080@50p or 60p then I got picture.

BMD repeatedly demonstrate that they do not understand what EDID is for, or how to properly implement it.

I got 1080p50 working flawles today with our JVC GY-HM850s.
Then again they wont ask for EDID but output is set in the menu.
When I connected a GoPro I needed to put a a Gefen Detectve Plus in between to make the GoPro send 1080p50. Otherwise it sent 25fps.
For what it's worth, SDI 3G works, but only Level B.
"Fun" info was that the HDMI signal from a BMPCC4K in 1080p50 wasn't stable in the Camera Converter but in all other equipment I tested.
