Firmware update Camera Fiber Converter fails

PostMon Jun 04, 2018 12:15 pm

Hi,

as of this week we own two Ursa Broadcast cameras with Camera And Studio fiber converters.
Upgrading the cameras, studio viewfinders and the Studio Fiber Converters went like a breeze, one of the Camera Fiber Converters keeps refusing to upgrade giving the error message „Firmware upgrade failed“. It is working though with the old firmware.

We also removed it from the camera‘s back and fired it up on its own trying to upgrade to no avail.

What else could I try?

Thanks,
Knut

Hello Knut. Just to check, the Camera Fiber Converter needs to be connected to the Camera and powered by the camera and not powered by the SMPTE fiber when doing a firmware upgrade. And if it still doesn't work you can always try to downgrade first then upgrade again. Otherwise it may be best to contact Support in your region.

Hello Gary,

connecting to the camera with camera power and disconnecting fiber did the trick.

(although the 12V 4 pin XLR doesn't really fit well, when the BNC "Ref" cable is plugged in :) )

Thanks!

Knut
