Google Hangouts - live streaming

Hello. I work for a small non-profit and we make use of Google Hangouts for live streaming. I would like to be able to make use of a higher end camera for filming at the same time. Unfortunately, many high-end cameras don't function as a "webcam" as well.

I'm wondering if you UltraStudio hubs won't solve this problem. Won't these units essentially work as a bridge between camera and computer (thus making the computer see the camera as simply a "webcam")?

Your thoughts on this and any other options for making the most out of Google Hangouts would be greatly appreciated.
