Embedding Timecode, Hyperdeck Mini

PostWed Jun 20, 2018 5:52 pm

Hi,

I have a rack of Hyperdeck Studio Mini's because I want to record each channel with h.264.

I need to get Linear Time Code from an audio signal (generated by our truck) into the Hyperdecks.
I was thinking the Teranex Mini Converters before each Hyperdeck would probably do the trick but is it correct only the HDMI to SDI model actually takes timecode *in*? And the other models just do out?

This means I'd have to do SDI Signal > SDI to HDMI Converter > Teranex Mini HDMI to SDI (adding Timecode) > Hyperdeck Mini which is a pretty poor workflow.

Are there any other products that can do SDI to SDI with adding timecode from an LTC feed?
Will the Teranex pass through the embedded audio on channels 1 & 2, and add the timecode to the SMPTE spec so it's part of the video metadata rather than the audio on the file?

Thanks,
Ben

Hello Ben. The Teranex Mini Audio to SDI will let you embed LTC. There is a mode switch for just that purpose. It will leave your audio in tact and just embed LTC.
