Tally on 2nd M/E

Hi,

Tally borders on the multiview don't show up if the source is live in the 2nd M/E.
Is there any way around this?

You have to set the 1 M/E program source to 2 M/E program, and 1 M/E preview source to 2 M/E preview.
Then you use the 2 M/E to mix.

So in my use case which is generating two independent mixes (one for streaming one for IMAG) with two operators (one operating M/E 1 and one operating M/E 2)

Only if the camera is being used on the streaming M/E (M/E 1) do they tally borders go red. This means the operators could be live on IMAG (M/E 2) but not the stream, and wouldn't know they were live as tally would be off.

I don't think using as you describe would work in this case?

Hello Ben. There is only one Tally system as well as one main Program feed in the 2/4 ME switchers. For any ME to have Tally, it must be in the main Program output. There are some tricks people use if one of the downstream keyers is available where you can key ME2 with Black and adjusted so that ME2 is not visible on the program output. That way ME2 will tally the Red boxes at least.

Yes, you can create an invisible key on m/e1 that has the m/e2 pgm.
But you won't have the green preview outline on m/e2.
