Decklink Duo wont work with Gigabyte OC Force MoBo

PostSun Aug 19, 2018 3:53 pm

Hi all, purchased a Gigabyte GA-Z87X-OC Force Motherboard specificaly to add 2 Decklink Duo and a Graphic card.
There are 7 PCIe slots and only 1 of them is direct off the CPU (Which is the only slot that works with Decklink)
Can anyone point out why the other slots wont work with Decklink cards?

Tried again last night with various PCIe configuration and just wont work.
Im wondering if this is a bios setting issue?

What CPU are you using?
1150 chipset also only supports 16 lanes total I think, so not a good choice of MB for multiple PCI cards (don't ask why they put so many slots on the MB)

I stick with 2011 socket MB due to it having more pci lanes (40 with right CPU - i7 or Xeon). I have 4 BMD cards working in this machine (Duo 2, SDI 4K, Ultrascope and mini monitor).

Hi there, yes it is a 1150 chipset.
The specs show the following.

3 x PCI Express x16 slots, running at x16 (PCIEX16_1~3)
* For optimum performance, if only one expansion card is to be installed, be sure to install it in the PCIEX16_2 slot.

2 x PCI Express x16 slots, running at x8 (PCIEX8_1~2)
* The PCIEX8_1 slot shares bandwidth with the PCIEX16_1 slot and the PCIEX8_2 slot with PCIEX16_3. The PCIEX16_1/PCIEX16_3 slot will operate at up to x8 mode when the PCIEX8_1/PCIEX8_2 is populated.
(The PCIEX16 and PCIEX8 slots conform to PCI Express 3.0 standard.)
* The PCIEX16_2 slot will become unavailable when an expansion card is installed in the orange PCI Express x16 slot.

2 x PCI Express x1 slots
(The PCI Express x1 slots conform to PCI Express 2.0 standard.)

I dont think its a total of 16 lanes only?

I see a lot of shared lanes.. Not a good motherboard to run high demand cards on the PCI lanes.. Sorry for your loss..
