How to connect external audio mixing panel w/ BM TVS

PostThu Aug 30, 2018 1:41 pm

Hi guys,

So I am mixing my video feeds through the Blackmagic Television Studio HD, and my sound is being mixed externally on a Behringer Xenyx 1204 USB. As soon as I connect my audio mixer in the XLR inputs of my ATEM Television Studio HD, the audio is extremely low.

I guess I need a pre-amp to boost the sound, however I also read many people using an external mixer are having delay issues.

On top of sending the audio mixer output in the ATEM, I would also need to send a 2nd analog XLR feed for the venue sound systems.

Could someone suggest me the right hardware I need to buy to be able to preamp the Behringer XLR output, with delay option and with 1 or more XLR outputs for different sound systems?

Thanks!

You need about +4dBu of signal going into the Atem. So most often i just push the mixer a bit to get it were i want..

Use a Behringer XR12 myself in the smaller setups.. As the XR12 is a digital mixer there are ways to fix the delay issue.
