Saving Smart Videohub Routing?

PostThu Sep 13, 2018 7:11 pm

Afternoon,

I was wondering if there is a way to save our routing as we would with ATEM showfiles and then load them into the Videohub. I have been able to save showfiles for our labels, but not our routing. Because we run several different shows, it would be SUPER beneficial to be able to load a route "pre-set" so to speak and then be able to load another one and so on, saving us having to manually set up every time. Is there a way to do this? Any guidance would be appreciated!

You can do it with Telnet and piping the txt file with commands for each configuration.
I have started on a better way of formatting the data (in a JSON file) and have the extract of current routes done.
I use this to document the configuration in an Excel matrix display which you can use (Windows only) https://ianmorrish.wordpress.com/2017/11/11/document-blackmagic-videohub-with-powershell-and-excel/

Thank you, Ian. My understanding is that Telnet would work only performing one command at a time...Is there a way to make it save all my routing and then be able to load it and not have to go through routing it manually every time? Like loading a preset?

You can have multiple routes defined in one command. I recall someone saying there may be a limit of 20 per command but I have not confirmed that.
