Fiber SFPs

Does anyone know what the technical differences are between a regular SFP that would be used in a network switch and an "SDI" version?

Most network SFP's will not handle pathelogical pattern and so can fail with video if certain video layouts are put out. The reclocker and EQ in the SFP will not handle video in a propper way.

Errors are spikkles, Black lines, flickering of whole image, etc.. Some people claim they have good results with network SFP's.. But i have some tests at the office were almost every network sfp fails..

So this is why you buy more expensive Video sfp's.

I'm with you though, my video analyzer doesn't lie. video SFPs are the only way to get a perfect picture.
