ATEM Television Studio Pro 4K. No Audio Controller?

My work is looking to purchase an ATEM Television Studio Pro 4K, however, one of our needs is a hardware audio controller (only need mute, pan and fader). I was planning on just getting a Berhinger X-touch but in researching it seems like the fairlight audio mixer can not be controlled externally via the Mackie protocol.

Is this still true and if so is there any other option? I am pretty sure I need the ATEM Television Studio Pro 4K since it seems to be the only one that can split out the audio to dual mono instead of just stereo which is how our sources come in.

This would be replacing an older small ross switcher, disembedders, embedder and a small analog mixer.

I know that the Behringer will work with devices, that's not my question.

It seems like the new TVS Pro 4k fairlight audio mixer does not support the Mackie protocol like the previous switchers do. My question is, does it at all and if not will it in the future?

When using a computer / laptop and running the Atem software. You should always be able to control those basic parameters from Mackie protocol on Midi. Not sure what went wrong with that user.

So it does work with the new TVS Pro 4K? Have you tried it because from the post I linked to Gary from BMD indicated that it did not.

Hello Thomas. We will pass this along. In the new Television Studio 4K Pro, there is not the same mapping of controls since the audio system is completely redesigned with the Fairlight processing.

I tried calling but sat on hold for like 20min. I could just buy it and try it but I don't really want to tell my work that I am buying it and it may or may not work...

Well the thing is.. The Mackie midi control, controls the Atem PC software.. It does not control the Atem directly.. It controls the PC software.

And if users are able to control other Atems with a Mackie enabled midi controller. I don't see why the Atem TVS PRO 4K would not.. Unless BMD used a completely different control structure for this switcher only..
Looking at the picture of this panel it looks quite similair to the audio panel of the older Atem switchers.. But yes they might have changed more underneath than just some added controls..


So at this point i guess you better mail in a support ticket to check this with the BMD office for a official statement on the matter.

Has this been resolved? I'm looking into a quick fader controller for my TVSP4K.

Not yet.. There has not been any firmware update for the Atem since 10th of august..

Was this ever resolved?
