ATEM as a Controled Device

PostFri Oct 26, 2018 1:19 pm

I am looking for information about using either the Sony ELC-MVS01 automation or the Sony MVS-6530 switcher to control ATEM as a slaved device.

For example, this could be used to feed a monitor with the output of the ATEM and have the Sony system control what is punched up on the ATEM.

Has anyone done this, and if so, how?

Thanks.

You need to use a device reading the sony protocol and sending ATEM commands....

Output GPI Triggers from ELC-MVS01 and use these as inputs to an Arduino to control ATEM (could trigger a macro) is the only easy option. I don't know if Sony has an API published to create plug-in's (knowing Sony, it will be a software license) but that would be a lot of development effort.

Thomas and Ian,
Thank you both for the replies. I will pursue this as you suggest.

If anyone else has tried these suggestions, I would be interested in reading whatever success you have had with it.
