ATEM TVS or ATEM 1 E/M?

PostWed May 15, 2013 6:41 pm

I am looking at getting something like an ATEM TVS, but would also like to have PIP to put PowerPoint slide shows overlayed in a smaller window onto my video streams. I am assuming this is not possible with the TVS, is this correct? Is this even possible with the TVS as a whole PowerPoint screen that transitions in and out over the video screen?

If this is not possible, I would consider the 1 E/M, but would like to know what the extra cost gets me. Is there a comparison table that shows this information?

That type of PiP isn't possible with the TVS.

Here is the difference in features:

Is it possible to switch back and forth between a live video feed and a PowerPoint presentation?

A little more detail on PowerPoint switching.

The ATEM is a video switcher only... so it will switch any input where that input is presented to it in the frame rate/resolution it is configured to run in.

You must connect the laptop to the ATEM using either HDMI or SDI. That may require a converter/scaler to do that. Most laptops with HDMI output are compatible without the need for any converter.
