Web Presenter "punched in" problem

PostThu Nov 08, 2018 3:42 pm

Does anyone know why it is that some software doesn't handle the signal from the Web Presenter properly? I've run into this with the application Vidyo. The default image is punched in and cuts off 40-60% of the image. The work around is to go into the settings and force Vidyo to be at 720p30. My institution is wanting to simulcast to Workplace by Facebook which is fine. Problem is I get the same issue but Workplace has no deeper settings for correcting this issue. So I think my only option may be to run a third party web camera software or something. Maybe OBS. I'm not familiar with this software but am looking into it. Does anyone have solutions for this by chance? Thanks for reading.

There are quite a few people who have posted here stating they will use OBS for situations such as this. You may want to go to the top of the Live Production section and type in 'OBS Web Presenter' and you'll see multiple posts to help get an understanding of what other users are doing.

The Webpresenter offers multiple resolutions in both raw and mjpeg. Some applications seem to select just the first one, or the highest resolution on raw (which is cropped) or - the best case - the highest encoded resolution.
