UltraStudio 4k Thunderbolt Screen/ Connection Issue

I cannot for the life of me get my UltraStudio 4k to connect to my computer. The box powers up, the buttons light up and I can hear the fans, however the LCD screen looks to be displaying black video (It is backlit and everything so it is on, just not displaying anything) I have checked that my software is up to date, The connections are good. Where do I go from here? Is there a way to hard reset the box? Please advise

What software are you outputting video from?

The UltraStudio does not act as an extra screen - it shows up as an output in software designed with BMDs APIs.

I am trying to use it with OBS and or Premiere pro, however i cant get blackmagic desktop video to even see the device, im using mac OS

Sierra, High siera or Mojave? Guess you are running into the Security issues that are active Since Sierra on the Mac's..
