Think I know the answer to this one but here goes...
I've been trying to do this:
BMCC > SDI-HDMI mini-converter > (consumer) HDMI monitor(s)
I've gone through a couple other cheap SDI to HDMI converters and the only one that sort of works is the first cheap one I got. The black magic converter does not. The monitor is asking for a 60hz signal. It appears that the cheap one adjusts for the different frame rates coming out of the bmcc while the black magic does not. I believe it expects you to have a monitor that excepts all the different frame rates also. sound right?
the cheap one just has a small warning in the top corner that won't go away. so it 'sorta works' but I would like something without any idiot messages.
Should I return the black magic converter or is there a way to make this work with it?
Sorry for the nube post,
Thanks Keith
