Camera position presets query

Good day all.

I have the following hardware:
BMD Micro Studio 4k
Rushworks PTX Model 1
ATEM Production Studio 4K
ATEM 1 M/E Advanced Panel
Smart Videohub 12G 40x40

Everything is hooked up, and working; including the PTX.

I have manual control over the PTX through the Advanced Panel, but have yet to figure out how to do Camera Position presets.

(meaning, I have camera 1 pointing / focused on position one, I then want to recall a preset that will re-position to point / focus on a different scene).

I've tried macros, but the camera control part does not make the device move.

I've checked the XML file and can see the CameraControl flag and, when I make changes to the values, I can get it to zoom or move; but there doesn't seem to be any "granularity". (meaning it goes to full zoom, or full pan)

Where would pre-sets be stored ? (rushworks ptx, on the panel)

Hello Rob. The ATEM macros cannot store PTZ presets via SDI control at the moment. This is something we are looking into.

I'm also interested in the outcome of this thread. I have a use case that involves two PTZ cameras and would like to buy the ATEM 1 M/E Advanced Panel (as a remote hardware controller) and the ATEM Television studio HD plus two web Presenters (as the local operating hardware) but really fast access to the PTZ presets via my control surface is essential for my application. It seems like I need another control surface for PTZ presets and I can't use the Advanced Panel - is that right?

Gary - were there any conclusions you and the BMD team came to when you looked into this?

If you connect a PTZ with VISCA protocol using the RS-422 connection on the ATEM, the camera positions may be recorded in macros. Even the PTX will work over RS-422 in this way. When controlling a PTZ camera using SDI, the macros do not work since there is no feedback of the position to record. Stay safe.
