Low-Cost HD Live Video Telecast

PostTue Dec 18, 2018 10:44 am

Hi Experts,

I need to setup a very low cost video telecast system. Requirement is as below:

3 Camera input - Feed to be switch manually using a computer.
1 Output - will be connected to 2-3 monitor (using splitter) shows up same content.
Ability to add some overlay effect/title/text on AHDOC basis. Can I create my own overlay using after effects or can I use existing overlay effects available in market MP4 format.

Audio from camera is not required if it's available then added advantage.

I have picked up one DeckLink Duo 2 card from ebay.
My expectation, I can feed 3 video source to this card and use one output to display the content mixed from the computer that host the card.

Is my understanding is correct ?

How does ATEM-Television-Studio comes into picture ? All I know is that they are dedicated for live broadcast. More information would be really help me to understand the live telecast part.

Thank you very much.

look for VMIX
the version BASIC HD costs 60 US$ and can handle 3 cameras and one output.
see also the requirements for hardware. you can try the most advanced version for 60 days.

Try OBS Studio. 100% free. Just get a capture card for all your inputs. Done.

Vmix is a good choice and will do as you want but, I'm with Andre.
So will OBS... Free open source s/ware that works well for simple projects.

Thanks for all your reply.

My original question was

Can a DeckLink Duo 2 card take input as 3 video source and produce one output ?

Is it possible perform video source switching and applying transition via software ? Somewhat similar function like AETM studio or somewhat close to it ?

Thanks,

Thanks for your reply. What software to be used for switching different feed to output?

Possibilities of adding any overlay? Such as event name. Or any lower third?

Thank you once again for your time and effort on replying my query.

Wish you a very happy and prosperous new year!
