Lanc Control with B4 lens and URSA Broadcast

PostWed Jan 02, 2019 7:15 pm

Can anyone help with this? I can't seem to get control of the lens. I am in full auto mode with the lenses, but can't control them Is there a setting on the camera that allows lens control?

Yes that was the 1st thing I tried with the URSA Broadcast. The LANC does not control the zoom on an old analog B4 lens.
This is probably because the zoom control comes from a different connector.

I don't know about the newer digital controlled lenses as it uses 'serial' data.

B4 ENG lenses have their own remote control connection, a 6 or 8-pin on the bottom side of the zoom rocker. For remote zoom control you can use this controller or connect the camera to a ATEM for CCU remote control. Lanc is not going to control zoom or iris on a B4 eng lens. If you are interested I have a Fujion Bebob Zoom remote available, send me a PM for details.

Thanks for the responses. Denny, would this work? I know it is only zoom. I also know the lens will make a difference as well.

Yes, a zoom remote from Varizoom or Bebob Zoe II/III will have a zoom rocker, a record button and in the case of rhe Zoe, it has a “Return” button, which does the same function as the dot rolls on thenlens zoom Servo rocker assembly. They do work, used them in ENG cameras when covering an event or using an ENG Camera in the Studio. There is an additional remote for lenses that have a focus Servo.
