Micro HDMI to SDI converter issue

PostMon Mar 04, 2019 8:41 am

Im using the blackmagic Micro HDMI to SDI converter to go from a Canon XC10 to a Datavideo HS-2200 but cant get a sigle through. Works fine directly into one of the HDMI sockets but not into any of the SDi ports. I would be gretaful if anyone has any idea what the problem might be

There is more tolerance with HDMI connections than there are with SDI so it's potentially a signal that the SDI connection doesn't support but the HDMI will. You may want to confirm with the manufacturer if the output of your camera can be sent via SDI to the device or if it needs to be scaled to something different.

The HS2200 has HD-SDI inputs and seems not to support 3G-SDI. The micro will output 3G-SDI when connected to the Canon XC10.

So you need a scaler in between or set the output resolution of the XC10 to 1080i instead of P ;)
