A simple hardware solution is the Teradek VidiU Pro. It is a streaming encoder with the ability to also record H.264 on an SD card. Very solid and doesn't take up your computer resources. I prefer a hardware solution as opposed to capturing on a computer.
Or you can record video with the BMD Hyperdeck Studio Mini. It will also playback as well. These record on SD cards in a variety of formats, even H.264 if you give it the right signal.
