Sample or bit rate for AES input

We have an RDL HR-ADC1 to bring xlr audio into the ATEM TV Studio as AES-BNC. Is there a best Bit rate or Sample rate for that audio or does the ATEM have external sync capabilities that the RDL will sync with?

The ATEM is looking for a 48k sample rate
