1080 psf 25 on blackmagick atem production switcher

PostFri Jun 07, 2013 10:14 am

Hello

the production switcher use 1080i50 only resolution (concerning the 1080 "pal" version)
I mean it's not possible to use 1080p25 resolution

In my workflow i use 1080 p25 signal

So i would like to do the same with the production switcher

i have an hyperdeck wich record in 1080i50

when i use the sdi output of my panasonic AG AC160 it comes into the production switcher

MY question:

Does the production switcher use the signal from my cameras in 1080p25, in 1080i50 or in 1080 psf25?

the same question for the recorder:
does he record in 1080i50, 1080p25 or 1080 psf25

if the answers are 1080 psf25

when i want to use these record (in apple pro res), do i can mix my footage in 1080 psf25 in a timeline in 1080 p25 without loosing any line from my record

many many thanks for your help

Most cameras output a P capture in Psf sdi. So the answer is Psf.
It seems to be a lot more complicated to process and record P, I don't know
why as it's the same bitrate. :?:

We mix psf and P footage in Avid using a P project setting. The Avid interprets the
Psf capture as P. FCP is the same with a sequence set to None in settings.
