Newbie needs help

PostMon May 13, 2019 5:42 pm

Hello All.

I am completely new to livestream. Have never done it before.

I've been doing some research to try to livestream a sport event with 6-8 cameras using ATEM TV Studio HD

One of my concerns is how can I have a scoreboard with countdown timer and points during the games ?

Something similar to this

Any hints or rought instructions will be appreciated.

Hello,

you could use a CG software

I'm using one called chararter works
It can easy do scoredboard and timer but it's not cheap, also you will need
a pc with atleast a decklink duo 2 to make it work with fill and key

-chroma key a powerpoint presentation (cheapest)
-download CasparCG (free) and buy a decklink card
-add graphics in your streaming software (obs, vmix)

The last option still requires a hardware mixer, as you don't want to input 6-8 cams to a pc.

A few challenges -- is there an existing clock you need to sync to, or is something you self generate to match the goings on good enough?

Does score update rapidly? If not, you could easily update a Photoshop template and export that every time there is a "score" via the MediaPlayer

Thank you all for the answers

As soon as I get my hands on the ATEM TV Studio HD, I will try to work on it and ask for help again.

You can use PowerPoint and the SimpleSupers app. You will have to remove the key to update the graphics. You could also dedicate a camera to the scoreboard clock and put that in a box somewhere that is built in to an animated graphic you design in PowerPoint or a still built in Photoshop.

Otherwise you can use a CG solution that will pull the data from the scoreboard in real-time. That’s not a cheap solution though.
