Multiple Outputs with Smart Videohub

PostMon May 20, 2019 6:31 pm

I can't find an answer in the manual so thought I'd ask here...Do the 20x20 or 40x40 Smart Videohubs allow you to send an input to multiple outputs? For example, if I want to take a camera input and send it to an ATEM for live switching, can it also send it to a monitor at the engineering station or maybe a TV in the lobby?

If not...What's the recommended solution for some sort of video matrix...

Thanks in Advance
Brent

Absolutely. You could send it to all of them.

Yup, that's idea. So you could send one input to every single output, or you could have every input going to different outputs. When setup you will have a list of destinations (outputs), and you will be able to select any source (input) for each destination.

Depending on your setup though, switching between the different cameras in your engineering station may not be frustrating. For basic setup, I will use the output of the 40x40 matrix, but when doing QC and color balance, I use a switched aux so the monitor output doesn't flicker at the switch.

Also, if you patch the aux outputs to your matrix, then you'll have those with program audio if that is important to you.

Example of our 40x40 hub configuration. You can see inputs on the left going to multiple outputs on the top.
(I have some free software that dumps you Videohub configuration into Excel to produce this)
