DeckLink Mini Recorder - Audio Latency & Interference

PostWed May 29, 2019 12:00 am

Hello!

We've been having some issues with our DeckLink Mini Recorder and our recording/live streaming setup.

First, a little bit about our setup. We have audio fed into an ATEM Television Studio Pro HD from our audio mixer via XLR. The output of the ATEM goes to an SDI distribution box and feeds various TVs/Projectors/Capture devices. One of the feeds goes to a computer with a Mini Recorder that is used for live streaming and archive recording.

Issue #1: Each streaming/recording session seems to have a variable audio delay. Ranging from just about in sync to 800ms out of sync. This seems to change based on OBS launch/reboot. Still not 100& sure. None of the other SDI feeds to various places show any sign of significant delay.

Issue #2: Just recently, within the last few weeks, approximately every 1 in 5 streaming/recording sessions contain significant audio interference. This is only present in the Mini Recorder's capture. It comes and goes. Below is a short clip of what it sounds like.

Issue #1 has been a problem for the last year or so. Issue #2 developed about two-three weeks ago.

Things We've tried:
* Updated to the latest drivers
* Ensured audio out of the ATEM was clear and in sync

Any suggestions? We're currently thinking it's the card itself, and considering a warranty replacement. However, we want to rule anything else out - otherwise the new card could have the same symptoms.

Thanks!

Bump? We got a new card, same model - this fixed the issue for a few weeks, but it has since returned. Anyone have a suggestion?
