Hyperdeck Mini MP4 Encode preset?

PostWed Jun 12, 2019 11:50 pm

I'm investigating using Hyperdeck Mini's for a project coming up and have a demo unit at the moment.
I'm having issues playing MP4's made in Turbo.264 & Handbrake and wondering if anyone has a working or recommended encode preset for making compatible mp4's - ProRes was working first time from Compressor.
Thanks

The HyperDeck Mini doesn't officially support H.264 for playing back externally encoded clips. There is a note about this in the manual, and some additional discussion in these threads:

Your best bet if encoding clips for playback on the HyperDeck Mini is to use ProRes or DNxHD.

Yeah just discovered that. Annoying.

"NOTE Currently, HyperDeck Studio Mini will play back H.264 files recorded on a HyperDeck Studio Mini, but not H.264 files recorded on other video equipment."

Problem is that they use some kind of H264 that is not really available as a codec on the PC. Dont ask me how and why.. But that is why you are not able to generate files that will play back..
