ATS Control unable to communicate with the hardware

PostTue Jun 25, 2013 7:56 pm

Hi, I am having problem with my DELL laptop. ATEM Software Control was unable to communicate with the hardware. The laptop is running Windows 7.
I was able to control the hardware from my MACBook through. Same version of software. Same IP address.
I have confirmed that my PC laptop's internet connection was functioning. And I turned off wireless when I was testing.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

So much could be wrong (although if you can connect to the TVS from a MAC... it's most definitely a config issue with the DELL)

Can you still connect to the ATEM TVS from your MAC?

Please confirm all settings and post them here (otherwise you will keep us guessing).
IP/Subnet/Gateway (for both the DELL, MAC and TVS)

Can you Ping the TVS from your DELL?

By the way... access to the Internet on the DELL does not <really> tell us anything. The Internet does not have anything to do with the TVS.

Thank you Liam for response.
Here is my network setting:
IP: 192.168.10.241
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.10.1

I can ping 192.168.10.241

ATEM setup utility shows:
IP: 192.168.10.241
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.10.1

ATEM Software Control version 3.3 in both MAC and PC.

Firewall was turned off.

Anything else I need to check?

So you have configured the SAME IP address for both your DELL and the ATEM?

Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0

I can ping 192.168.10.241 *you are basically pinging "yourself" - not the ATEM

ATEM setup utility shows:
IP: 192.168.10.241
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.10.1

That's what is wrong. The IP Addresses need to be different.

Basic networking... for any device to connect with any other device - each one MUST have a UNIQUE IP Address. Think of it like your home address. if two houses in the same street have the same address... where does the mail get delivered?

Thank you so much Liam. I set my computer IP to 192.168.10.50 and it's now working. Problem resolved.
