Looking for a solution for our streaming needs

PostWed Jul 10, 2013 1:43 am

At the gaming company I work for we are trying to up the production quality of our live streams. We want to engage our audience by showing our xbox and pc games by doing live shows with our hosts.

We are planning to have connected to the switcher: game consoles, computers, cameras, and an audio mixer.

We want to achieve these looks:

1- Display live game in the background (coming from consoles or pcs - being able to switch input would be great). Showing in the foreground our hosts in a small region of the screen (being able to switch which camera is displayed). Lower thirds, animated rotating logo, twitter ticker, other graphics.

2- Show the set with our host (switching cameras when wanted), have game input (consoles or pcs - switch inputs when wanted) show in a small region of the screen. Lower thirds, animated rotating logo, twitter ticker, other graphics.

3- Display our camera input with lower thirds, animated rotating logo, twitter ticker, and other graphics

4- Have advertisement breaks (Thinking on having a computer set up to play these videos)

We have been interested on getting the ATEM 1 M/E Production Switcher, but we want to make sure we are going to be able to achieve what we are looking for.

Feedback on hardware/software is very much appreciated.

Thanks,

Rodrigo

Using the upstream and downstream keys, as well as using the Picture In Picture, you should be able to accomplish what you are looking to do.

Keep in mind you only have two media pools from which to work, though, where you could have the spinning logo and another graphic in the lower third, so you would not have all of your graphics onscreen at the same time, using the media pools.
