What is this? Like strike nine for taapo? Has he ever posted anything other than a personal attack on Costa? On the forum I mod, I would have nuked him a long time ago. You're too nice. :D

I thought that too...but I thought that would start another fight...so I zipped it.

And btw I think they only will ship 30 cameras as this is the amount of cameras they get in every batch from the supplier. Btw can we know the name of the supplier? just for curiosity.

At least we know it's looking better than it was before on delivery time.

Why not hit the ball out of the park?

It has not been around for a while, this sensor still in ( sampling ) not shipping status, I signed an NDA with CMOSIS back in May 2012 for the CMV12000, now you can rent ( not cheap ) an evaluation board per day to test basic functions of the sensor, but the sensor still not shipping yet.
BTW no one so far complained about stability of the BMD camera sensor

More positive update then the last one. At least they are moving forward.
I'm going to hang in for another couple weeks. I am number 4 at my reseller, this doesn't mean anything if they only get one camera.

I just hope I get a camera before they make another announcement at NAB 2013 that makes this camera obsolete. I think we have all displayed a certain amount of loyalty through this waiting process. It would be a real bummer if they announced something new in Q1 2013.

Hey, at least we're getting somewhere - he's half positive! Keep going, Costa!

Re: banning - you should at least have thought that Costa would have been banned for months, with his constant personal attacks on BMD ;) That would have saved us from a lot of stupid remarks.

taapo, why don't we agree to disagree and leave it at that. We should try and be a bit more mature about things... BMD haven't seen anything wrong with my opinions... but personal attacks between users is not on. I won't be replying to you again as I do not want to fuel you any longer and I think people here would rather read about the camera and BMD than another of our petty fights!

I'm sorry to you guys here looking for updates and finding arguments

Thanks again and good luck

Thanx Grant!
I just want to write and state that I understand the concept of flexing your frustration on this forum. What kind of pisses me of is the fact that some of you guys seem to feel mistreated by BMD like if they've done you personally wrong? Everybody's itching to get their toy of the century but if you're in a position that you need it for payed production you just have to hire some other camera to get the job done. The way I see it we should all be happy BMD is being next to manic in their ambition to get everything right and perfect and I also think we have to face the fact that they are investing a lot of money and resources to make our dream come true. They might have been a tiny slice naive and for that I forgive them. I'm the same. Man I want to lock my self in a room with that thing for three days and dont come out!

I understand where you are coming from, but as I have stated before and you may have missed, this is the SECOND delay from BMD on TWO different devices in a row. Hyperdeck Studio Pro is coming to a 6 month delay as is the camera. This is not poor planning but poor management IMO. However, I DO understand where you are coming from, I just do not agree with all of it.

Dunno, but Terry granted me an "exception" when i asked since it's more appropriate for me to go by "Hook" since that's what 95% of people in real life call me and ONLY know me as.

I see the new Sony 4K camera has had it's price leaked.
With the BMCC delays Sony may grab some of that market share.....

The F5 will be around £10k, but you need to then buy the viewfinder, the RAW recorder, the lenses etc. For a full rig you would be looking at upwards of £18k, but yes it is a VERY good camera and the price is good no matter what people say. However, people wanting to buy 3k camera would likely not jump ship to a 10k camera. Maybe the FS700 with 4k recorder?

Although I am definitely interested in the F5. Very tempted indeed!

I don't think sony cameras will take BMCC costumers... Sony's are so f***ing expensive and they don't offer nothing so great. the F5 is just like the Fs700 in specs but with new form factor.

Nope the FS700 won't be able to do the higher frame rates the F5 can do... the F5 IS a better camera with genlock etc included too. Plus the F5 has 14 stops of Dynamic Range... what does the FS700 have? Think it's more like 11 to 11.5 stops.

fs700 does 240 at 1080p and by now the sony F5 does only 60 at 1080. With further upgrades of the software you will be able to do HFR...but out of the box not. :)

But when recording RAW the F5 it can produce 120fps at 2k AND has 14 stops of DR;) The F5 is the better camera hands down, whether that show's in the price difference is another matter entirely!

But at HFR I doubt you can see much difference betwen 1080p and 2k. ANd it's better 240fps at 1080p than 120fps at 2k , though it's in Raw and you need that supercheap recorder with propietary media like the new XSxs or whatevere the name is and I repeat that out of the box the F5 is 1080p60 4:2:2 50mbps at Mpeg2 or AVCHD. so it's not so great when you have the same from a Fs700 at half the price :D

Actually its the 3rd equipment delays if you include the BMC camera handle.
It took a lot of pitchforks to get Grant and BMD to post anything. If people havent said anything I doubt very much BMD would be bothered updating us or at all with this camera.

I agree with Costa with one addition: as far as I'm aware, the BMCC is the THIRD product they've failed to ship on time. It took me two months to get my Intensity Shuttle with Thunderbolt from B&H here in the States.

One shipping date error for a product is an accident. Any reasonable human being would forgive that. Second product: another missed date. I'm concerned. Third missed shipping date on yet another new product = bad planning/poor management.

But instead of asking top management to step down after this serious error, I would suggest that they give something extra to customers who have been waiting a LONG time for this camera. Throw in an SSD drive or a lens mount or some free software. Whatever. But make it a substantial token of appreciation for your customer's patience. Otherwise--and this will happen soon--customers will grow impatient with the company's broken delivery promises, and they will buy the next new shiny camera toy.

On our cinemacamerahq.com web site, we posted a ticker near the top of the home page that counts the amount of time we've been waiting. We're up to 77 days as of this writing.

Keeping my fingers crossed for a very speedy resolution and a token of appreciation for my loyalty.

Hello, good morning. My name is Sergio, I'm from Brazil, I am very anxious to see this camera. I already bought products from blackmagic and are good and the price too. Being audacious would be the possibility of an amateur like me having a camera for these tests, since tests only see with filmmakers? It would be nice to even release in my region.

Sergio, there are a lot of good people who paid for their camera months ago, who have been (im)patiently waiting. Everyone is anxious and a lot of these people are irritated about many things, including that some people got cameras to test after it was supposed to be released. The camera has now officially been released, so aside from the question of why you are any more deserving than everyone else on this forum, there is no more testing to do.

It's not hype its a guideline. Belive me, I know this as I used to be a tech engineer for one of the main UK broadcasters. That is the minimum spec for broadcast (well in the UK at least...).

Dude, what is your queue position told by the dealer?

8 last time I called. But they hadn't received any BMCs and were totally clueless (just like me).

Thanks mhood. B&H won't let me know my queue position. Hope you can get bmcc by 2012. :D

It's not hype its a guideline. Belive me, I know this as I used to be a tech engineer for one of the main UK broadcasters. That is the minimum spec for broadcast (well in the UK at least...).

I know it. But if I have a better codec and then deliver to whatever standar is, better. When I did some works for TV it was still delivered on tape, so right now I don't know how in Spain it is working now. :D

30 sensors is just the size of their test batches.

Grant said you recieved a small amount of sensors....so I think it's about 30. It's not a critic, it's just my assumption :D

Whether its linear or non linear matters not. HDCAM SR tapes (which most broadcast channels accept as standard) take much more than 50Mbit/s... think its more like 440MBit/s but I could be wrong as it's been a while! The standard HDSDI connection transfer rate is 1.485Gbits/s at 4:2:2 and you double that for 4:4:4.

Anyways, back on topic... I would like Grant to answer me this please. Will we likely get our camera's by the end of this year. Please an honest answer would be nice.

Yeah 440 mb/s.

And I don't think most of the people get their cameras at the end of the year... you know christmas and all that s**t. when did you preorder yours, costa?
