I'd love to see a screenshot of the histogram, time remaining and audio level indicators on the BMPCC screen, anyone? I guess that the output from the HDMI can still be clean?

It would be great if in a future update (not knocking Blackmagic at all with this, I think the updates they are doing are great) the buttons could be user configurable.

Its great!

But camera buttons would be muuutch more usable if they'd control iso and shutter speed,
I'd be more comfortable to access histogram from the menu

What about the "Clean output 1080i"-bug?

Does the camera finally output 1080i again if you switch off the overlays? Beacause you broke this functionality for the Pocket with version 1.5.1. Since that version the Pocket outputs always 1080p even if you switch off the ovelays which makes it impossible to use with your ATEM switcher line.

Cheers

I'd love to know if anyone else is experiencing this too as it wasn't mentioned in the firmware notes, but I'm getting seriously better battery level accuracy, down to the percentage the whole way from 100% - 0%

Maybe this was added recently and I just didn't notice?

Must be for the Pocket camera as I'm still getting 100-75-50-10% battery indication on my BMCC, maybe it's because it has a different type battery compared to the internal BMCC battery?

The bmcc is now a much different, more usable, camera than what was originally released. And here we are 2 years after release,(really like a year since people got them) and, as far as I'm concerned no camera, other than the other bms, near it's price class produces a better image. For a narrative film, I'd take it over what I've seen so far from gh4, a7s, fs100, canon markIII.

BMs raw, graded in davinci, is just better. Period.

Sorry yea, I'm using the pocket cameras, tested in on both of them with the new firmware and they are both now showing totally accurate batt readout the whole way through, really useful

Hi Terry,
just so I'm clear on your battery read out, is your readout displaying 1% increments when your battery display or 100-75-50-10% increments? If you are getting 1% increments when did you purchase your BMCC?

Hey mate,

To clarify, I'm referring to the Pocket cameras, not the BMCC or BMPC. One of which was purchased a year ago, the other just over a month. Yea the readout is displaying in 1% increments, not the 100-75-50-10 as before.

Does the camera finally output 1080i again if you switch off the overlays? Beacause you broke this functionality for the Pocket with version 1.5.1. Since that version the Pocket outputs always 1080p even if you switch off the ovelays which makes it impossible to use with your ATEM switcher line.

Cheers

This was my wish list. I was told by Dan May that RAW compressed will not happen on the BMCC. Audio meters: Done. SSD Minutes remaining: Done. Thirds on camera. Maybe?

Re: BMCC Firmware 1.9 feature requests.
Mon Jul 21, 2014 12:27 pm

For the BMCC 2.5K
1 - Compressed RAW on BMCC
2 - Audio meters
3 - SSD minutes remaining
4 - Thirds on the camera monitor

Thanks.

Longer shutter than 360, to do light streaks and stuff like that.

Technically speaking that's not possible since 360 degrees means that it's open for the entire duration of the frame. I guess you mean it would be nice to do long exposures during timelapses?

It seems that when doing timelapses right now it still counts the shutter angle as if it were 24 fps or something.
If it really was a proper 360 degree shutter when you're at, say 1 fps, the frame would be exposed for that whole second (and you'd get streaks from moving lights etc).

I'm really bummed the new white balance increments for the 4k weren't part of the update, but I'm super happy they are coming. So very necessary.
