FBX import

PostSat Nov 22, 2014 10:39 pm

Hi all,

How can I import an FBK model into Fusion. I have some HQ cars from evermotion in all formats i.e vrayforc4d, 3DS, Obj and FBX. I also would like to know (learn) how to then have the model show in my 3D viewport.

Is there a way to also have the textures import with the model.

Thanks,

Regards,

George

File>Import>FBXscene...
You can import many 3D file types that way. Or you can use the FBX Mesh 3D tool. You will get options while importing your model. I'm new to this too so cannot give you expert advice after that. I still have to figure out the texturing thing myself.

After you get it loaded, just drag the tool into a viewport to see the model.
Go to Youtube and type "Eyeon Fusion Tutorials".

Hope that helps a little.

well, its nice to that you can import 3d models in fusion, but keep in mind the renderer is "just" a scanline renderer. therefor you dont get any raytracing effects like reflection or refraction. there is enviromental reflection and refraction

if you import your FBX/3d scene the "file->import->fbx scene" way will create a node for every subpart of that scene and will also try to attach a material to each model.
to this materials you can connect then the textures
