Low Profile Version of DeckLink SDI 4K

PostMon Jan 26, 2015 2:53 pm

Apologies if this is not the correct place for such questions. However, I am curious to know whether Blackmagic Design is planning to introduce a low profile version of their DesckLink SDI 4K product?

If so, when will such product be available for purchase?

Cheers,
Andrew

HI Andrew -
Thank you for your suggestion for future products. Blackmagic Design does have the Decklink Mini Recorder and Mini Monitor which are low profile capture and playback pciexpress x1 cards.

With regards to your question, Blackmagic Design does not disclose future product designs or plans.
Thanks again for your suggestion and it has been noted.

I too would urge Blackmagic to consider low-profile versions of video capture cards where practicable.

These can be installed vertically into a 2U rack-mount and thus may find their way into more applications.

Unfortunately low-profile video capture cards are difficult to find, and those that do exist are expensive.

I'm using decklink sdi 4K with pci-e x1 and it is working with all features except 4K capture/playback.
