Teranex for Windows via Thunderbolt

PostWed Dec 12, 2012 2:45 am

Is the Teranex 2D supported as a capture device on Windows 7 via Thunderbolt? I saw the press release that Blackmagic received their Thunderbolt for Windows "certification" but later in the article it mentions only the Intensity Shuttle/Extreme, not the Teranex.

My goal is to use the Teranex as a capture device for both streaming (FMLE) and/or Web/Video Conferencing (GoToMeeting, Adobe Connect, etc), as those services only support very specific resolutions (ie. GoToMeeting requires 720/50p even in the US) which are not supported by our cameras or switcher.

Hi,

Right now the Teranex 2D is not officially certified for Windows. Some of our other products are certified already, but we cannot guarantee other products' compatibility with Windows until they have been certified. It's possible certain hardware will need a software firmware update before they will work correctly.

ThunderboltTechnology.net is a website that provides the latest information on which products are certified for Thunderbolt for Windows. Here is the Blackmagic Design page.

I'm less concerned if it's "certified" and more interested in if it works. There is a "Teranex for Windows 1.0" download on the Blackmagic support site, but it is significantly smaller than the equivalent Mac download.

Does the Teranex appear as a DirectShow or WDM enabled capture device under Windows so it can be used for streaming/recording?
