4K UHD Output from Resolve Lite

I'm grading a music video from Red Epic material and TIFF sequences in UHD resolution. I'm doing this with a 1080p timeline and cache to speed up the workflow. Now, when I'm doing the export, I change the timeline setting to 4K UHD to get a UHD master file. But when looking at the 1080p screen (which is zoomed to pixel map the UHD image), it doesn't look like 4K. It looks "scaled" to 4K. The details look blurry while there is extreme sharpness at high contrast edges.

Is Resolve Lite really able to export 4K UHD? Or am I doing something wrong?
I mean, the Epic files are 5K so it should definitely be a sharp UHD image.

if you switch to UHD and therefore you are looking at a 1920xs1080 ceneter crop, you are supposed to go back in your seat between 3/2 and double of the current distance, in other words, if you curent monitor is a 50 inch, is like you are seeing at a monitor that is 100 inch UHD. You will not sit as close.

The other way to think at it... it might be your camera optics/sensor/LPF and so on.... 5K does not mean anything if the lens/camera set is not excellent (understanding that you might have prime lenses and still it could look a bit soft...)

Can you output 4K with the Lite version? I thought you could only do up to 2K or HD or something. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Resolve Lite has supported timeline and render resolutions up to UHD 3840x2160 since version 10.

Thing is, when I look at the material at full debayering in Redcine-X it looks sharper in the details. In Resolve it feels more scaled. The downscale should create a very sharp image and if I look at it pixel mapped as a 1080p crop on my monitor it should show the details much sharper than it does. We stopped the lens down to around F4.0, so it really should be dead sharp.

Always set "Force debayer to higher quality" and " Force sizing to highest quality" in Render settings.
You could also try to switch the timeline to UHD 3840x2160 before the Render and compare the results.

All bayer pattern camera are soft in nature, and each debayer software add artificial sharpen, it might well be that redcinex is overdoing it a bit.
