Until what version of Resolve will my dongle work?

I can't seem to find the answer to this anywhere. If I have a dongle from DaVinci Resolve 9, I know it will still work on version 11. But... for how many more versions will it work? Will it still work on Resolve 12? And if so, at one point are we going to be required to purchase a new one? Or will it just work indefinitely?

Until there's any post/press release stating otherwise, the Resolve dongle will work with the most current version release.

I think BMD has been extremely generous, given the development costs involved with a large staff of programmers, coming up with updates every few months, plus a new version of the software every year for the past 3-4 years. Back in the 2000s, the original daVinci Systems charged big money for every version of their color-correction software, and updates were flakey and infrequent at best. You guys have no idea how good you have it.

It is a magnificent setup, not having to worry about paying for upgrades. I've been wondering if there'll be a point where Resolve's NLE features are so comprehensive that they'll split it into couple softwares, at which point maybe the dongle wouldn't apply anymore.

D'oh. I really hope that doesn't pan out, or if it does, that it doesn't affect The Foundry. The Foundry makes great products, and actually cares about doing things that are useful for its customers. They also have good customer service, and Luxology has been thriving since joining the Foundry.
