DeckLink SDI no signal no remote :( Help :(

Hi everybody,

I have to capture HD Cam tapes this weekend using a
HDW-D2000 as player and a new
DeckLink SDI in my MacPro.

The deck is playing back on a monitor. So the signal is there.
I connected the SDI in on the SDI out and the Deck control on the RS422C of the deck.
But I do not get any signal in my mac!
Remote-control is not working either..
Tried with Media Express and FCP.

I really have no clue what could be wrong?
Please help!

On deck u must turn on remote button for controlling.. In software u must set same capture properties, as is on tape..

You mean upper left side "Remote" and under it "1(9p)"? That´s on!
There is an LED for RS-422C which is not burning and I do not get it burning in any way...

But there is no sound via SDI. On the deck the sound display is blinking... do I have to activate something?

Ok. So I got the wrong cable?
The one here is female and fits only to the male RS232 Input on the machine not to the female remote input...
Can I get a standart 9pin cable from any store for that?

That is set correctly. So the blinking on the machine means there is no sound on tape?

Do not put rs422 to rs232 .. There are different voltages ! U can damage rs232 port.. U need gender changer ..
On hdcam u can display audio metter.. U see on it any audio activity..

Ups... all right, hope nothing damaged so far.
So I go for an adapter.

As there are blinking audiometers and no amplitude, there is probably no sound on tape right?

Yes.. It looks like no audio was recorded..

Btw: u not need remote control for capture.. U can capture on the fly..
